What is Alexa

Alexa is Amazon's digital voice assistant. It can be used on smartphones and Amazon's Echo products.
There are a few reasons behind naming this voice command as "Alexa". First, the name "Alexa" comes from the Library of Alexandria, which tried to collect all the knowledge in the world. This is what Amazon is trying to do. Alexa is always learning but, in theory, it should be an unbroken source of information.
More practically, the service was named Alexa because it featured unusual "X" sound. Since the service is voice-activated, Amazon wanted to choose a name that is not confused with other words and that could wake up the device by mistake.

Amazon's voice assistant is the voice of a woman who speaks to you in a conversational manner, ready to help you interact with many things.

It has been integrated into many of the company's products and is also beginning to find its way into third-party tools such as GE lamps and Sonos One speaker.

Alexa can perform various simple tasks such as running the music, but it can also be used to control smart-home gadgets, allowing it the ability to dim lights, close doors, or adjust the thermostat.

Alexa, the brain behind Amazon Echo, is built in the cloud, so it is always getting smarter. The more you use Echo, the more Alexa adapts to your speech patterns and vocabulary. Using Alexa is as simple as asking a question – just ask and Alexa will respond instantly

How Alexa Work With Amazon Echo

The technical details of Alexa are complex but can be understood in the following way.

As soon as you speak "Alexa" in front of it, it triggers the start of its service. Then it starts (or attempts) to understand what you are saying.

After this, Alexa sends the recording to the Internet on Amazon's Alexa cloud-based servers, based on the query you asked or the conclusion of the given command, where AVS (Alexa Voice Service) is.

The Alexa Voice Service then converts your voice signal into a computer language command that can execute a task (such as searching for a requested song), or converting computer languages back into a sound signal so that Alexa's voice assistant gives you To provide information verbally (such as time, trophic, and weather).

If your internet connection is working properly and Amazon's back-end service is also working properly, then you can get an answer immediately after you speak. Alexa works remarkably well in a lot of cases.

On products such as Amazon Echo or Echo Dot, information responses are in audio-only, but to a limited extent on Echo Show and smartphones, information is provided through audio and/or on-screen displays.

Alexa can also pass commands to other compatible third-party devices, using an Alexa-enabled Amazon device.

Since a cloud-based Alexa voice service is required to answer questions and perform tasks that require a connection to the Internet - you cannot interact with Alexa without the Internet. At such times the Alexa app comes in handy.

If you have an Amazon Echo device to use it, first you need to download and install the Alexa app on a compatible smartphone or tablet, as mentioned, but instead (or in addition) it will be available on Amazon Mobile Shopping And/or by connecting to Alexa Reverb apps (s), you go to the Alexa app's device menu settings and identify your Amazon Echo device.
